e-Learning

Children learn from one another with both verbal and visual hints in order to retain new knowledge. In this process e-learning has been playing an important role. With more and more youngsters using the internet these days, e-learning is becoming popular. Online education has found a worldwide acceptance due to its flexibility.

In many developing nations e-learning has also not only been welcomed in formal educational institutes but is also adopted by the administration as a method of imparting education. This seems to be a blessing of the new-generation technology which makes teaching possible anytime and anywhere.

Classroom learning stands for formal learning for it has stated objectives and gives fixed results. Some kinds of e-learning also give formal education and learning experiences online. Online learning is boosting up because of its flexibility. This enables a learner to learn according to his pace.

He can browse through the topic until he understands it fully. This is the safe and patient way to develop ones skills in the subject concerned. Many Universities are also offering online degrees and certificated courses to students. The cost of study materials like textbooks and manuals also come at very expensive rate.

One solution for this is blended means of education where online learning will be imparted through the hands of formal educational institutions. In this the strengths both the system can be adopted giving up the weaknesses of both. None of the systems can completely replace the other and online learning in no way can be thought toreplace formal classroom teaching completely. E-learning best complements the already existing education system.

PRINCE OR PAUPER

Where there is no vision,  the people perish!

Often, we harbour certain hopes in our hearts towards our children. Undeniably, there are a whole host of interplaying factors that shape the outcomes of our children’s individual lives. However, as parents we could give them a head start in life by putting them on the right launching pads from the early stage.

“To be or not to be, that is the question” a famous quote from Hamlet by Shakespeare, is a question we often ask of ourselves and especially, of our children. What are they to be, what would we like them to be and most importantly, what we not like them to be. The difference is, how far we would go for the best for our children’s future.

Ever wonder why your child’s exam result are still not satisfactory even though you have sent them for so many tuition classes?

Normally, you will send your children for tuition when you find their exam results unsatisfactory. If the results are still not good, you will either change the tuition teacher or send them for additional tuition classes. After all, that is what the majority of the parents think they can do to help their child to improve. Years after year, even if the improvement is not significant, you still continue doing the same.

Have you ever sat down and though carefully about:

  • Why your child is not improving?
  • Why your child refuses to learn?
  • Will tuition alone help them?
  • Is there a better, easier & more interesting way?
  • Do they really like reading books?

If you observe the current generation of children, you will normally find 3 main characteristics in them.

  1. Intelligence – Modern day children are more intelligent than ever before
  2. Laziness – Technology has made them lazy
  3. Computer savvy – They are very conversant with a computer

Yes! They like to play with computers a lot!

Whether you like it or not, computers for kids is no longer a luxury but rather a necessity if they are to be properly equipped with the knowledge they need for their future adult environment. The earlier a child begins to use a computer the better it is for their development. Beginning with toddler learning software is an excellent way for them.

There was a time when the idea of a child sitting in front of a computer screen for an hour was considered damaging. Today with advances in technology forcing society to change the habits of past thinking, it is now very clear that children must develop an understanding of how to put computers to use, because no aspect of business life is untouched by the computer.

All of us know children like computer games a lot. The fact that they can master a game in a short period of time without any coaching is simply because they like to play computer games! They like computers more than books!

Now, let me demonstrate a real-life case to prove that if we give our children what they like, they will perform.
